Seasons in Japan

Spring (Haru) It begins on March. Trees in Japan start to bud, and a temperature of the weather in the daylight increases. The first tree, which starts to bud, is Plum tree. Its flower blooms that has colorful in a long line. On the end of March or on April, Japanese wait eagerly when a weather forecast is announced about Sakura tree in each city. After that, there is a banquet for look at Sakura flower (Hanami) under Sakura tree. The pink Sakura flower is colorful only 1-2 weeks, and then it falls. After that others spring flowers bloom such as Fuji flower.

Summer (Natsu) It begins on May to September. There is the summer season in a short time. After that, it is the rainy season (Tsuyu or Baiyu) that rains every day. The summer is hot and moist except Hokkaido. It has a light hotness. During of summer in August, it is hot, but fresh. Japanese often go to camping, hiking or swimming.

Autumn (Aki) It begins on September to November. The weather is dry and cold. Although, it sometimes rains, and it may have hard wind or typhoon. After that, leaf changes its color. Japanese harvest many produces of agriculture among Harvest festival of localities.

Winter (Fuyu) It begins on the end of November to February. A cold wind comes from Siberia and Mongolia. Although, the temperature is cool in the south of Japan, but the temperature in Tokyo is near with a freezing point. In the north of Honshu, Tokoku and Hokuriku have a big snowy knoll, and it is very cold in Hokkaido. Although, the weather in Hokkaido is very cold, but tourists come from around the world go to Sapporo, where is capital of Hokkaido. There are snow and snowy statues.
